Be a wildlife film maker!
Have you ever dreamt of being a natural history documentary filmmaker? Well, we offer the unique chance to come film with us Kenya’s amazing wildlife. In this special workshop you will get a detailed insight into the world of natural history documentary filmmaking.
Andreas Knausenberger will take you into the wild and he will share his knowledge of filmmaking. You will learn how to film with high-end cameras like the RED V-Raptor, get an insight into rigging camera equipment for different scenarios. You will also learn how to do DIT and some basic post production.
What to expect from the work shop?
This unique work shop will take you on a journey into the world of natural history filmmaking! You will have the chance to get a glimpse into the exciting world of documentary filmmakers and get to learn what it takes to get the best shot possible.
You will get an inside view into the following topics:
– How to set up your camera rig according to different shooting scenarios
– How to use high end cinema cameras like the RED V-Raptor or Komodo X
– How to film with different lenses
– How to shoot with handheld gimbals
– How to tell a short wildlife story
– How to shoot wildlife footage out of a film car
– How to do timelapses
– How to save your files at the end of the day
– How to edit and color grade your footage
According to your preferences, we will pick the perfect location for your adventure. As we are working closely with the different National Parks, Reserves and Private Conservancies, we will organize all the needed film licenses and permissions for your workshop.
You will stay in selected safari camps and lodges where you can relax after a long day of filming. We normally start the day before sunrise and end the day after the sun has set on the horizon. So be prepared to stay out in the bush the whole day to get the shot!
This workshop is limited to maximum two participants. This will assure that you will get the most out of your workshop.
